  1. These are two separate articles but I figured it makes sense to post them together in the same thread. Nvidia 5nm: https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/geforce-rtx-40-gpus-fabbed-on-tsmc-n5.html TSMC 3nm: TSMC's 3nm process enters pilot production phase at Taiwan fab WWW.TECHSPOT.COM Unnamed industry sources told DigiTimes (paywalled, via MacRumors) that TSMC aims to... Also this: Intel looking to 'avoid fighting' with Apple for TSMC's 3nm chip production Intel looking to 'avoid fighting' with Apple for TSMC's 3nm chip production APPLEINSIDER.COM A new report says that Intel executives are shortly to visit chip company TSMC, specifically to...
  2. Intel: 12th Gen Intel Core Desktop Processor Family Additions and New Platform Options (guru3d.com)
  3. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/new-tech-could-mean-85-fewer-transistors-with-new-adaptive-transistor-technology-in-gpus-and-cpus.html The technical parts of this are way over my head, but it sounds like it could bring some major performance gains down the road if this tech can be used at scale effectively.
  4. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/twice-as-powerful-but-double-energy-usage-nvidia-geforce-rtx-40-video-cards.html Huge grain of salt but it sounds believable that Nvidia would go balls to the wall with RT and not really focus on power consumption at least until RT is more viable to use.
  5. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/up-to-64gb-of-hbm2e-memory-is-available-for-intel-sapphire-rapids-xeon-cpus.html Guess Intel is ready to compete on cache sizes. 64gbs seems kinda nuts.
  6. More than 50 vulnerabilities have been found in AMD EPYC processor and Radeon graphics drivers. (guru3d.com) Question for people on this site; I have sort of stopped seeing "security exploit found" articles as very news worthy because IMO it's a constant arms race that will never end so we can just expect new exploits to constantly be found and then patched. That said, 50+ sure seems like a lot but in general I don't think this kind of thing is all that news worthy. What do you guys think?
  7. https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/core_i9_12900k_review,12.html Not going to quote any text since all we want are the numbers.
  8. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/netflix-launches-its-mobile-games-globally.html Exciting/s
  9. Interesting to see a big game with FSR and ray tracing. Fist graph is no RT. Second one is RT+FSR. https://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/far_cry_6_pc_graphics_performance_benchmark_review,1.html
  10. Seagate is working on 30TB HDDs, 50 TB in 5 years and 100 TB by 2030 (guru3d.com) I remember hearing about graphene being holy grail of tech all the time when I was younger. Cool to see it making it's way into something tangible.
  11. Intel Core i9-12900K spotted scoring more than 30000 points in Cinebench R23 (guru3d.com) I saw some other articles about this claiming much higher gains in some pretty obscure situations but they seemed either too good to be true or not representative of average performance at all so I didn't pay much attention to them, but this seem pretty realistic. I think I will be pretty comfortable with me 3700x for a long time, but it will be interesting to see how the DDR5 era kicks off.
  12. Nvidia Develops AI Algorithm to Improve Computer-Assisted Speech (guru3d.com) Interesting to see Nvidia working on something that doesn't really have anything to do with gaming specifically.
  13. Hacker returns $600 million in cryptocurrency that he had stolen (guru3d.com) Supposedly they hired him.
  14. Guru3D has 3 articles on this Gigabyte hack. I am going to post them all here in 3 separate posts. Internal files as well as Intel and AMD source code out after Gigabyte website breach Internal files as well as Intel and AMD source code out after Gigabyte website breach (guru3d.com)
  15. The Radeon RX 6600 XT is the most efficient mining card available today. (guru3d.com) An otherwise uninteresting card will now probably be one of the most overpriced.
  16. AMD’s new Radeon RX 6600 XT offers 1080p RDNA 2 gaming for $379 WWW.MSN.COM Coming August 11th Another GPU that will be extremely hard to buy and end up selling way over MSRP...
  17. Elon Musk Calls App Store Fees a "Global Internet Tax" and Sides With Epic Games (guru3d.com) Like him or not, it's an interesting take. Simple while adding a good perspective.
  18. Samsung teases DDR5 memorysticks that hold 768 GB RAM (guru3d.com) Almost enough for chrome.
  19. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/amd-makes-super-resolution-officially-open-sourcefour-new-games-get-support.html Very cool..I wonder if this will improve it's effectiveness.
  20. Source: End-user manages to install FidelityFX Super Resolution in GTA V and shares it as mod (guru3d.com) Neat, wonder if this will get modded into any other games.
  21. GeForce RTX 3070 Ti founder edition review - Introduction (guru3d.com) Seems to be about 5-12% faster for an extra $100.
  22. https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/tsmc-4nm-manufacturing-process-will-come-sooner-than-expected.html Good for my TSMC stock.
  23. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Spotted in Ashes of the Singularity (guru3d.com) Feels almost pointless to report on this since it's so hard to get a GPU. Hard to get excited about something hardly anyone will be able to get.
