  1. Epic v. Apple: Judge Rules Apple Must Allow Developers to Direct App Users to Outside Payment Options - IGN WWW.IGN.COM A judge has finally ruled in the Epic vs. Apple lawsuit, issuing an injunction in Epic's favor that will... Good new IMO.
  2. Valve Facing New Lawsuit Over Steam Digital Dominance [Update: Valve Responds] - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Update: Valve has a recent antitrust lawsuit regarding Steam to be dismissed, saying that even an... I do hope Valve loses this one. Their pricing rules are rediculous and I'm surprised it's legal for Valve to dictate how devs price their product in other stores if you argue they don't have monopoly control, never mind that they do have monopoly control. Seems like the type of rule that only a monopoly could implement. If Steam wasn't the only store PC gamers wanted to use, devs would just avoid steam and their rule would backfire, and since Steam is a monopoly no other store game can gain traction so long no other store can compete with Steam on prices. I wonder if this rule is one of the reasons games are exclusive on epic store when they release for a while, so they can sell their game without bending to Steams rules initially and offer a deal they wouldn't want to offer on Steam with the larger cut.
  3. The Coalition's Xbox Series X|S's Unreal Engine 5 Demo Is Just the Tip of the Iceberg - IGN WWW.IGN.COM Gears 5 developer The Coalition explains a bit more about how Xbox-specific advantages will benefit... Definitely looks impressive. Hearing a lot of talk about this, I get the impression devs are waiting to see if UE5 will get optimized to the point where 60fps is more viable before they really start using it.
  4. Battlefield 2042’s Portal Lets You Remix Classic Battlefield in Insane Ways - IGN WWW.IGN.COM This is insane. I'm starting to think EA might not mess this up. I've played every BF PC game since 1942 and I'm super excited about the BF1942 maps. El Alamein!
  5. Facebook Will Begin Serving Ads Directly to Oculus Quest Headsets - IGN Exactly what we all knew would happen to Oculus eventually.
  6. https://www.ign.com/articles/microsoft-flight-simulator-base-game-size-in-half-170-83 Pretty impressive optimization. I've heard a major ram optimization is also coming soon.
  7. https://www.ign.com/articles/unreal-engine-5-early-access-ps5-xbox-tech-demo Also:
  8. 18 Years Later, the Halo PC Port Is Getting Visual Fixes - IGN Any excuse to play Halo 1 again is a good thing in my book. Best one of the series IMO. This is long over-due. A bit of back story, the original PC port of halo from back in the day was made by Gearbox which did a lot of PC ports for other studios back then. There were a few graphical effects that didn't make it from the xbox version to the PC version. The MMC version of Halo 1 is based on the Gearbox port and thus those effects are still missing. This video goes over the differences:
  9. Battlefield 6 Images Allegedly Leak Ahead of Official Reveal - IGN
  10. https://www.ign.com/articles/links-between-loot-boxes-and-problem-gambling-robustly-verified-in-new-report Another article telling us what we already know.
  11. Source: EA Play Is Coming To Xbox Game Pass For PC Tomorrow - IGN Gonna be a great time to hop on BF4 and frag some noobs. Separately, There are another 8 games that were just added to the "coming soon" list with that, Bethesda just being added and now this; gamepass for PC got a lot bigger this month. Though it's worth noting that the EA games are actually late, they were supposed to be added sooner.
  12. Source: Microsoft Announces FPS Boost Feature For Xbox Series X/S Backwards Compatibility Games - IGN It seems so simple, makes you wonder why they didn't do it sooner.
  13. Source: https://www.ign.com/articles/the-source-code-for-hacking-game-watch-dogs-legion-has-seemingly-been-hacked We heard you like hacking games so we hacked your game about hacking! Guess this game is basically single player now.
  14. Source: https://www.ign.com/articles/you-will-lose-all-your-oculus-games-if-you-delete-your-linked-facebook-account Looks like the exact kind of issues people were worried about when facebook acquired oculus are now very real.
