  1. Alt link/article: Why William Shatner's History-Making Spaceflight Is Something to Celebrate TIME.COM The man who gave us Captain Kirk left the planet for real However you feel about Jeff Bezos starting a space launch company, I think it's really cool that William Shatner or James Kirk himself has now really gone to space. Star Trek has inspired so many people to go into science fields. It feels like it's coming full circle when the guy who inspired so many to build rockets is sent into space by some of those same people.
  2. Not exactly the kind of thing there are a lot of articles about, but they probably wouldn't be as good as this guys coverage anyway. The TLDR of it is that OG xbox emulation is just about at the level of being good enough to actually be usable. One thing I found especially interesting in the video is when he showed so footage of Halo 1 running at a higher res via an xbox emulator and it was pretty surprising how much detail was hidden by the lower res. Seems like the texture res could have been half of what it really was on xbox and no one would have been able to tell the difference at 480p. Makes me wonder what other games might end up looking a lot better on xbox emulators.
  3. Not exactly news, which is why this is in the entertainment section. I came across this video and it's actually really well made and informative on the subject of "bit flips" caused by cosmic radiation and how that has had all kinds of real world effects.
  4. It will be really interesting to see how this does against DLSS. Given that this is will be the newest architecture to have AI upscaling hardware, Intel may benefit a lot from seeing what the other players have done and building on that so I wouldn't be too surprised if this was superior to DLSS when it launches. Supposedly this will work on Nvidia and AMD hardware as well.
  5. I try to avoid using youtube videos as a source for anything but this is the only good source of information for this I could find without combing through the developer Q&A transcripts, which can be found here: MSFS Developer Q&A Live 7 - Flight Simulator Blog Sounds like they plan to start focusing a lot more on optimizations and then add better graphical features as they improve performance. Gotta say, the graphics would probably be my last complaint about MSFS2020.
  6. Worth a watch. Honest, they were a little niave but considering the scale of the project, not surprising there were issues
