Cryptominers have already cracked NVIDIA’s RTX 3060 hash rate limiter

Recommended Posts

When the GeForce RTX 3060 was launched on February 25, Nvidia announced that the mining efficiency of the graphics card was deliberately being reduced by around 50% in a bid to get more of the GPUs directly to gamers. However, this limitation appears to have been quickly bypassed by Chinese cryptocurrency miners using customized mods.

When there is a will, there is a way.

breaking news: NVIDIA's publicity stunt is actually just a publicity stunt

NVIDIA could care less who buys their card, lol.

This would not surprise me, like at all. They are a business at the end of the day out to make cold hard $.

Fake news or not, I agree that it will happen in good time.  I think the only pure resolve for the issue right now is to create mining only cards (no graphics capabilities) that are cheaper for them to buy and mine faster than gamer/enthusiast cards.  Then they'd have no choice but to switch
