Ok, some BIG changes happening and I might be down for a bit. Will be doing a SFF case/PSU review for the site and it is a perfect time for me to start the 4 horsemen build and shuffle some things around. Sorry!

Your lead is big enough to take a while 😉

If you're still down when I get back home on 9/20, I'll temp with a 2080S. 👍

Guess my ETF rig had a failed unit at some point in the last 24 hours which just locked up FAH Client and had to manually pause/fold to get it going again.  It was likely from the massive thunderstorm we were having that led to a number of light flickers that the cheap APC UPS might not have filtered out fully.

Figured it was a good time to go in and increase fan speeds and enable +20% power limit on the RX 5700 as well to see how well that will increase PPD numbers.

Wait, are you saying you applied an overclock to it?

No, I did not touch the clocks at all, left those all on auto, just the power limit on that card has reduced crashing for me in the past when I was having plentiful crashes while playing DX 12 titles so hoping that solves the couple crashes on units I've had in the past few months.

So, what you're saying is you moved the power slider 'over' the stock setting of 100% 😉

Is it clocking higher?

Well that's the plan, will have to wait until I can catch it after it completes a WU to test higher. Not like it will matter once you get yours going. No one will be able to touch your team production. I will be looking for soul crusher 2.0.

This is a tournament,  I can't give away ALL of my tricks.

If I had more than my 5700 to fold on, I'd be up for some tricks, but my old little HD 3450 won't even run [email protected]

So for now, I will just try to remain a nice steady baseline of points in the AMD category until I move and can look at potential hardware upgrades (well I guess for ETF, I would be looking for downgrades that I can overclock the snot out of).

Can send you a K4000, M40 or 750Ti if you want to play with any of those.

That idea does appeal to me, but I would likely need to buy and setup a new computer to run another card, I don't want to mess with Windows AMD + Nvidia drivers again, that was a nightmare last time I tried making it work correctly.

Right now I have:
- X470 as the wife's gaming rig with the 5700
- X570 as my gaming rig with a 6700 XT
- X570 as my UnRaid box
- Q6600 with HD 3450 as spare rig and some old emulators

Oh, I LOVED my Q6600. The 750Ti would go nicely with that. Or I could just send you a recently decommissioned 9700k with z390 board.

TBH, I have so much tech crap and projects that it's overwhelming thinking about getting everything going and cleaned. I would be happy to send it if you could use it.

I definitely have the space, I get the keys to my new house October 1st and will have lots of room finally for tech again includling a new 42U rack.

I could definitely give it a home for the ETF or similar.  Running the 750 Ti would definitely work, but at that point, I would be a little worried about the age of the system itself as it's an old Optiplex tower that uses some weird power supply and motherboard connectors.  I would like instead just buy another cheap Rosewill case and rackmount a future dedicated folding rig.

Shoot me your address in a PM. I'll box it up and ship it out this weekend.

@tictoc Tell me you have a capable AMD GPU, else I'll have to hunt for one.

Just got back in cell service, and I'll catch up on everything tomorrow. I have 10 or maybe 11 AMD GPUs, so I'll sort that out this week.
