For many years, The Overclock.net Team Competition was the main event for serious and competitive folders who wanted to test their overclocking and folding skills. At one point, the event had over 100 folders on over 20 teams all folding close to 24/7. It was a staple event that ran all year, every day, and every month. It used to be an event dominated by who spent the most money, or who had the top PPD cards folding in a Category, but that's a thing of the past! You can be competitive with ANY ELIGIBLE HARDWARE IN THIS EVENT! In our test runs, a GTX 960 dominated the overall event, and not to brag, but it was mine! (Yes, I rigged this event for me to win - NOT!) The old event fell apart for various reasons, and we've picked up the pieces, started a new stats website from scratch, came up with some new rules for the event, and after a ton of work, the event will officially launch on August 1st!

A special thanks to:

Spoiler

@ENTERPRISE(The Big Kahuna! and he's to blame for the handicapping of the event if you don't like it)  @axipher (Stats Hosting and Config - probably some current and future delays cuz Canada) @zodac(re-wrote the database for the stats and actually ran TC before me back in nam) @1337lutz(seeing if we could use the old site which was semi-functional after he fixed some things) @firedfly(wisdom to fix stats when they broke during testing) @iamjanco (He's done nothing yet, but is going to make the stats site look pretty and DARK!)

Now is the time to get your hardware ready, get your teams formed, find your teammates to join your team, and get in on this competitive folding fun!

Teams need to be setup and in the stats tracking system by July 31st to have the best shot at being competitive in this event. The event rules and details can be found in The ETF Manual. Be sure to read this manual carefully and follow the event rules so you do not penalize your team. Also, the event has it's own section on the forum found here which houses the manual and team threads.

For the first month, we're going to be giving away some special prizes to the winning team, category winners, and a few randomly drawn prizes for participants.

  • BWG changed the title to Extreme Team Folding Goes Live on August 1st (Formerly The Team Competition)

I have added a 2nd sign-up sheet to the OP so only Enterprise can access your prizing info. My form will be used to reach out to you and add you to our points tracking.

We need more Team Captains so when I recruit folks, I can place them somewhere. If you're interested in becoming a Team Captain, please let me know.

One day perhaps I'd like to be a team captain. Not yet though. I feel like I'm still too new at folding and need to learn more.

But, I thought those teamview sessions taught you everything you needed to manage 2 other folders 😉

Sounds like @damric has learned enough to be a captain.  @BWG just volunteered to use team view for everyone on your team!!

TeamViewer flagged my account as commercial again last week, but I got it reversed. I'll help all the noobs on TeamViewer.

My wife might be able to get you a key from her work for an upgraded version. We need you to be able to teamview! She will check Monday.

About starting a team, we would need 3 more folders, one to replace me on my team, and 2 more to join the new team. I might be able to convince one of my kids to fold on some other rinky-dink card and OC to the gills, if that sort of thing is allowed.

BWG, can you provide me with the multi/numbers for a Quadro K4000 and a GT710 both running windows? I have the K4000 fully restored and plan on trying the 710 on an AIO. Going to see which provides the best output.

We're going to switch everyone to the All OS Total for the first month, so it would be 87,898 and 34,252 which would be what you divide the 3090 total of 5,658,562 by. So, K4000 64.38x and GT710 165.20x.

Well, I think folding on only 1 piece of hardware all month shouldn't be too terrible as far as heat goes for most, but some of the quick readers might think it's an all out event folding everything you have, and it's not. I did PM every active folder I could again today in a last ditch effort.

In other news though, a 4th team called overclock.net is joining, and they only need 1 more folder.
