Judge rules Apple can continue blocking Fortnite from the App Store

A federal judge has ruled that Apple can continue to block the hit video game Fortnite from its app store as the iPhone maker defends a landmark antitrust lawsuit by the game's publisher, Epic Games.

...

In federal court, Epic had asked Judge Yvonne Gonzalez for a preliminary injunction that would restore Fortnite to the Apple App Store. It also asked for a ruling barring Apple from retaliating against the company and its overseas affiliates.

Source

Epic really shot themselves in the foot. Fortnite had 250 million users (as of March 2019) with 100 million of those users being on iOS devices and I believe 80% of the revenue came from iOS devices.

As this goes on, it's looking more and more like Epic are not going to win this lawsuit. So not only did Epic completely destroy the one chance they had at bringing third party app stores to IOS, they've also lost a significant chunk of their revenue for Fortnite.

Epic thought they are big enough now to disrupt the Apple Ecosystem.

Some didn't read history. Microsoft, Google tried, who are Epic to succeed?
Just because they made a few billion and created today's cancer in mobile gaming, Epic cannot topple Apple.

The thing is though, they had a really good chance at winning this, then they went and ruined it.
