3DMark DirectX Raytracing Feature Test Benchmarks

The release of UL's 3DMark DX-R, aka DirectX Raytracing test (full, not hybrid), could not have been timed more perfectly. With the announcements of the AMD Radeon RX 6000 Series graphics cards fresh in mind, NVIDIA’s monopoly on real-time ray tracing will end. You guys, the gamers will have a choice of GPU vendors when buying a ray-tracing-capable graphics card. As such, we figured it is time to test pure (DX-R) Raytracing with all available and compatible graphics cards.

Very interested to see how amd will do on this benchmark.

Certainly great news that we can now move away from RTX as the only go to. Can't wait to see benches of DXR on AMD vs Nvidia RTX.

Nice benchmarks to look at !

...just downloaded the new DXR and ran it 'stock' and then 'oc'ed (see pics), then ran the new 'Wildlife'. Finally, I ran PortRoyal for the first time in months and gained a few spots in HoF...new drivers and cold weather ?

Nice scores, looking forward to see how AMD's 6000 series fairs. I figure likely not as well considering this will be AMD's first gen for RT but the price may be the most compelling part of it all.

...tx. I should rerun 'Wildlife' though as I used the milder oc settings for dual cards ('Wildlife' is a single-card only thing, at least so far). As to AMD's DRX, I can hardly wait. Hopefully, the 6900 XT kicks some proverbial, ahem, DXR !

...also, I recall the 7990s AMD used to have (dual GPU / single PCB). Who knows, may be a 6990 XT dual-GPU halo card may be lurking somewhere (wishful thinking department)...4x 8pin PCIe power, anyone ?  ?

Man, every time someone brings up the thought of a new dual GPU card, I'm all for it, that'd be awesome, but I wouldn't buy one. Had my fun with my 7990. AMD's and Nvidia's last dual GPU cards were what, the 295x2 and Titan Z respectively? Been a while.

(Side note, how do I stop the editor from automatically turning that x into a multiplication sign between numbers? There are a lot of neat little features like that in the post editor but some of them are intrusive in my opinion.)

I thought our w-cooled 7990s were the longest / heaviest cards ever - until the 2080 Tis arrived in December '18. BTW, the deposits in the 7990 w-block came after cleaning solution was used to loosen years and years of crud...

We also had 2x Arex3 provided by a rep for 'compute evaluation' for a few days...great fun until PSU OCP wanted to permanently move into the office ?
